But you’re right. It’s sort of over-reaching. “Don’t run” would still be plenty funny, especially coming from such an ominous yellow shadow looming over you.
That’s not to say you can escape from Fluttershy, though.
I don’t see it. Think that’d be too far interpreted, pushing an idea that can’t really be verified.
That’s true, but I was also looking at it from the idea behind the line as well. Admittedly, “Don’t run” is still the more accurate translation, but for humour’s sake I think you could argue in favour of the latter.
Former is more accurate. Latter wouldn’t work because the suffix construct isn’t “られない”.
