But it is still a confusing concept.
 
They are still a different species from the ponies in equestria, yet they are human in this world like them (which throws out some people’s theory that different species are different in this world too).
 
That does mean that different species in the show are human too, but spike isn’t.
 
It’s just an odd concept to throw out there.

Gotta say, it’s pretty awesome that The Diamond Dogs are back, even if it’s not in the show proper. Fitting, given the David Bowie reference.
