BonBon is temperamental, judgemental (but in a good way; one of the few charas that can be legitimately critical of/not like the mane 6), down to earth, but with a healthy balance between serious and romantic
 
Anyway, this pic has gotten waaaay too many reposts and way too little good art.  
If you wanted to prove that you are true shippers (and not just pee-on-others’-parade guys), get at those fanfics and fanarts right now.

Regarding Bon Bon’s personality, in fan works, I’ve usually seen her as incredibly grumpy. I’ve seen one fic where Bon Bon is human obsessed too, but she sees them as a menace. & what prevents Noteworthy from getting shoved into the bland straight man role as well?

Hmmm, now that’s up to each individual persons taste. But, in all honesty they do have more similarities. I’m sure fanfics can go more into detail about their relationship. A lot more than LyraBon. Because tell me, besides being lovers, what else is interesting about Lyra and BonBon together? Nothing really. Bonbon almost always has no personality besides being Lyra’s lover. or a changeling. which is overated.  
This ship has many possibilities, it’s up to creative minds to detail how interesting. I personally think they fit better, they have a lot more to talk about. Whereas Bonbon just always seemed to be annoyed at Lyra and never really allowing Lyra to have fun, she’s always this strait mare that douses Lyra’s fun and then just makes love to her. Honestly, lyrabon shippers don’t get too creative with their relationship (besides Bonbon finding Lyra’s attraction to humans strange). This ship has a lot more potential. and could possibly give Lyra a chance to be developed past “the crazy mare that’s obsessed with humans”.

I don’t know why everybody’s getting their knickers in a bunch. You guys shipped Lyra and Bon Bon simply because they stood next to each other. Why can’t we ship Noteworthy and Lyra when they are standing next to each other?

There is no evidence (cold hard fact. as in stated in the show or any show related material) to prove or disprove that Lyra and Bon Bon are in a relationship.  
Accept that there are people with differing opinions. I for one hate LyraBon because I personally think it’s the stupidest ship ever. The fact that I don’t like it doesn’t change the fact that you like it, just like the millions of fans who ship LyraBon doesn’t change the fact that I don’t like it. We can just agree to disagree ^^

Just accept the fact that Lyra and Bonbon are soulmates

shrug It’s impossible for us fans to determine if what the animators did was intentional or accidental, but they were together in enough s1 scenes for it to start before our influence.
 
I wouldn’t underestimate the animators, either. There are plenty of bg scenes that they constantly add absolutely independently from us. I’m more inclined to put down this as a situation where the animator’s bg jokes and the fans taste coincided.

No, in season 1 they were constantly put together because an animator stated that all background ponies were staged next to each other according to their color pallets. Lyra and Bon-Bon were placed next to each other alot because their colors contrasted well against each other.  
And please, animators started treating Derpy as a where’s Waldo type thing in season 2 because they knew bronies liked her so much. So yeah, they knew bronies loved to ship LyraBon

Not true. LyraBon started because an animator - who remains nameless - started putting them together in background scenes. Even today there’s no actual proof that us catching on influenced sh#t. (Though it’d seem very likely that it helped.)

All these interactions don’t count since the animators did then on purpose so be they k we the fandom shipped them. So all the moments they are together in season 2 and after dont really count.

 
Though given the sheer number of moments we’ve seen with Lyra and Bon Bon together, this is barely a ripple. Also, there’s a head canon starting to pop up that places Noteworthy as her brother.

Kinda said that ponies are forbidden to interact with ANYONE.
