@Background Pony #AK47
Now to put both of you in the Daycare…
I’d have to disagree… I find the older games to be near unplayble these days. But if that’s what you like, it’s cool. Just as long as you don’t get fanatical about it.
Oh right, that phenomenon. I’m not sure where I stand in that particular battle. My preference is definitely for the first two gens, but I’ll still play the later ones, even if they don’t really connect with me on the same level as the earlier ones.
Genwunner is a term for Pokemon “fans” (that term being used in the loosest possible meaning), that consider the Generation 1 games (Red/Blue/Yellow) and everything about them to be the absolute undeniable height of the series, and that everything else that came afterwards pales in comparison so much that they shouldn’t be treated as even part of the same series. To a Genwunner, anyone that likes any aspect of the games made after Generation 1 are inherently wrong and are not really fans, as they support Pokemon being “ruined”.
They often say things like “I only like the original 151 Pokemon” (sometimes they will not count Mew and say 150), “These new Pokemon are so unoriginal”, “They’ve clearly run out of ideas”, “Back in my day, Pokemon were based off of animals”, and other such things…
While they might not be a genwunner themselves… BP #AD62’s statement, clearly labeling non-Generation 1 Pokemon Professors as “Oak Wannabes” is a very genwunner-ish thing to say.
What?
You don’t have to be a genwunner to know that Oak was the man. Dude just knows when you’re trying to ride your bike inside.
Get your genwunner crap out of here.
Sun and all that.
