The only people calling Derpy “retarded”, we’re the people who were complaining about how “offensive” she was. That all said, yeah, it’s a dead issue. The vocal minority prevailed over the content majority, sadly.

I never said you were dumb and I never said I didn’t care about Derpy.
 
But that whole situation was pretty much the low point of the fandom thus far. There were no winners. Everyone was just sniping at each other looking for a scapegoat to blame it on.
