I think it’s the angle. The hand itself seems fine; artist was trying to make it bend back and that’s why it looks, as you said, “shrimpy”.
What inspired you to do an anthro picture? Not that I’m complaining, I think this one’s really nice.
I don’t know they still look oddly shrimpy to me, even if they were unfolded, given how long her torso is. Even the hands look to tiny.
I like the outfit though.
If the arm wasn’t folded, it would be at the right length. At least you’re actually making an attempt to show realistic arms in motion - most artists just content themselves with drawing characters whose arms go straight down, not much else.
Hahah probably not! My attempts at foreshortening are still pretty cheesy.
