I don’t often feel that reaction to muted faces in art either. It could also have to do with their location within the art piece, their expressions, etc.
Except, that is, for the muted faces of those two in the background is a bit distracting, and frankly unnerving.
Kind of wish they were either much more detailed, or just left blank.
