My bad. I’m not as into TMNT as I am, say, Transformers, so Leo’s actual personality tends to elude me.
 
Raph, IIRC, is the hothead, so that’d be Dash, right?
 
Which means Twilight does machines and Pinkie is a party dude horse, right?

Well, Applejack as the Turtle in the picture doesn’t fit, but I do see her as Leonardo due to her devotion to her family and she does take the role of the leader quite well when Twilight isn’t there to fill it herself.

Why do you people keep saying Rarity should be April? She’s the only one who’s actually done anything martial artsy in canon.

Switch AJ and Pinkie, Make Twilight Donny and make Rarity April O Neil and we got something. I don’t know about who can be Splinter.

To reiterate my previous opinion regarding Fluttershy, I’d say Splinter would work.  
Fluttershy is quiet until a crisis, and makes sure to teach about moderation before she teachs violence; yet, she’s perfectly capable of it if need be.

I cannot see AJ and Pinkie int he roles they’re in. Simply going by color doesn’t work here.  
RD works better as Raphael, Pinkie works better as Michaelangelo, AJ makes a better Leonardo, and Twi is a better Donatello. Rarity is better for April’s position, and Fluttershy would make an excellent Splinter as she stays quiet and peaceful until family or friend is threatened.

Agreed. RD has a bit of a temper and is quick to jump into things like Raph. Pinkie Pie wild party streak fits Michaelangelo. Applejack being level headed most of the time suites the role of Leo.

Do you think the artist might have assigned the TMNT characters to the MLP characters based on the characters’ colours?

Pinkie/Raph= pink/red

Twilight/Master Splinter= um… differently purple…
