Hey, Apple Bloom! I like your shiney butt! I’m just kidding I like the pic, and it is pretty funny too! AJ looks like she’s gone mad😳 + insaneness 😃 random 😔😅😀😅😅😔😔😔😔😔😣😔😅😅😳😅😅😛😔😳😌😰😒😛😅😌😛😉😉👙💇💅👰🙎🙍💁🙅💆👗👙👖👢🎩👡👞👠👘👜👒👕🎩❤️💚💜💙💛💋💍💖💍💘💌💖👞🙅👘💁👠😅👘👖👠👗👜👘👜👞👜💙💋💙💜💋👙😛💚❤️🙅👒👞😔👘👒👒🙅
I think you’re confusing Discipline with Anger Problems. If he did a lot of drugs and slapped you for correcting him, that’s not disciplinary action, that’s someone who needs therapy.
It has been proven that the most effective way to enforce respect and discipline is through pain. As is the saying “It is better to be feared than loved.” Now that doesn’t mean you get a free pass to knock the heads of any child who messes up, but your kids should know that until they move out, you are the one in charge!
@hentaispyder
Maybe you’re too young to have been in the group of children who actually grew up getting hit by their parents.
This is the second time I’ve seen some ignorant person post on this site defending child beating. Seriously, a Brony should know better! Yes you teach with reward and punishment to young children as you would a pet. But once that child can understand speech, you better damn well use it! The only way to truly learn something, is to be taught it! In most cases it’s not a case of the parent thinking hitting is a good punishment, so much as it is their way of getting out their frustrations. It is about giving themself some relief more than anything else. And if it’s not for that, then it’s so they can be lazy. Both are bad reasons.
I’d make my dad mad when I was younger. Called him an arsehole once, so he chased me and slapped me repeatedly. That is something I have never forgotten. Do you know what that taught me? It taught me that I was right, he is an arsehole. It actually got worse as I became a teen. I would get hit for correcting him. And boy did he need correcting a lot! He did too many drugs and has a bad memory.
Everything I know I learnt from my mum who actually talks rather than shouts and swings, or from TV and video games. My dad can hardly even be called a parent. He was just a very angry manchild. I feel bad that he went on to have another child after my mum kicked him out. The recent law changes protect them from the beatings at least.
To all you morons arguing about whether or not spanking helps: I was spanked as a child, and found that I was one of incredibly few students who managed to show any respect throughout school. If you accompany a punishment with explanation, then assocation will make the recipient wary of repeating the act.
just tell Apple Bloom you are very disappointed in her and make her go to confession :) that will mentally teach her! Come on, AJ, teach her to fear the Lord
I think corporal punishment is often overused, but really it’s like ANY application of violence and hostility; Violence isn’t the answer to every question, just REALLY stupid ones. Questions like “why can’t I just walk right the fuck out of this so called “time out” and get a fat slice of that cake they said was off limits out the fridge?”.
Also better parents beat their kids than the cops. cops do not give a shit, and in fact will probably get at least a half chub when they break bones.
“is far for damaging than a few firm smacks on the bum”
Yeah, no. Doesn’t matter what is more damaging, what matters is spanking doesn’t achieve discipline, it increases the behavior it purports to stop. It has no purpose being brought up as an alternative.
“to you people.”
What does “you people” mean? Because I would beat a kid senseless if I thought they would be better off for it. All the evidence points to the opposite, that spanking does harm. Denying with all the evidence stacked up against it is silly at this point.
You punish your kids in ANY way you’re doing ‘psychological harm’, because it’s a ‘negative’ act to you people.
Grounding has always been so much worse in my eyes. Depriving a child of social activities during developmental periods is far for damaging than a few firm smacks on the bum and some time spent in the corner reflecting on why what you did was wrong.
Not really, those types of studies are quickly discredited by the mountains of evidence against them. The mountains are in the corner that spanking causes harm.
If you spank your children you are causing them psychological harm, there is nothing political about it.
follow me to the spank club house
It is? I had no idea you thought so. Unless it’s your fetish or something. Don’t worry, we understand.
Stockholm syndrome is ok
I don’t feel abused at all, and I love my parents.
>”It is better to be feared than loved”
That one who support this needs therapy, probably of rejection trauma.

Jesus Christ, shut up… My mother slapped the hell out of me a few times, and all it taught me was “don’t be a little shitbag”.

Great, Applejack is a Heretic, time to alert the Luna Inquisition…
Well I guess you, me, and my brother are just entirely different people.
er… memory of the belting, I meant :/
yep there is no reason to take out the belt ;)
You’d think the MEMORY of the event would qualify as… you know, mentally teaching her.
Also better parents beat their kids than the cops. cops do not give a shit, and in fact will probably get at least a half chub when they break bones.
“it increases the behavior it purports to stop” Another new claim?
I wonder if any of these studies have even bothered dealing with selection bias, among all the other possible flaws.
