I do hope they actually offer something in way on character development, and him having a brother is one such way. Sighs, it may well have to be the show staff since the fandom seems unwilling to or uninterested in giving Flash Sentry any sort of development.

Yeah, I like the fact that Twilight has a canon love interest. I don’t have any judgement against Flash Sentry. Though, I really wish that earth colt who looks like him is confirmed his little brother.

I like this, and I want to see more off it.

This is cute, but I kinda feel bad for Spike. Imagine walking in on your mom/sister/boss/whatever having a romantic moment with someone when you just got back home.

Sad part is, brony community is probably bigger than those little girls combined and Hasbro still doesn’t see that. They could reap so much of a profit if they did xD

First they put wings on my waifu, and then had the nerve to ignore me when I spent an entire year posting gifs and complaining about it on Deviant art! How fucking dare they! I stream their episodes over the internet, and don’t by the merchandise, because so much of it is designed for little girls, andthis is how they repay me? Bastards!
 
We just need to turn Twilight back into a unicorn, tie faust to her desk and starting writing episodes for 13 year olds and up, because what are little girls doing watching my show?!
 
But don’t you dare give show any characters popular to the fanomm like Trixie and Derpy and dont you dare have the plot of an episode continue on from another episode, even if this was one of Faust’s ideas or I’ll scream at you for pandering to me! And I know theirs nothing a big corporation fears more than people screaming at them on a fansite on the internet!
 
And if Hasbro doesn’t comply, then MY LIFE IS BUILT AROUND PONIES AND NOW IT IS RUINED!

The truth is, like favorite cars or foods, you don’t pick them with your brain, you pick them with your heart. And we like this pairing, we think it’s cute, want to improve a character, and other stuff. You’re trying to apply logic to a concept that doesn’t always fit into that mold.
 
Since again, we don’t always meticulously analyze our feelings, there’s no single answer that would satisfy your apparently requirements, nothing to make you go “huh, that’s nice, I should start shipping them too!” We’re trying to describe why we enjoy shipping this ship, and you’re criticizing every single one. Perhaps your attitude is just because the ship isn’t for you, but we’re it’s valid to us.

I never degraded or insulted the people I was replying to, only the character in question, and justly so seeing as none disagree that the character is lacking. You must have an unhealthy fixation if you are taking it as person attack rather then seeing it as a criticism.
 
I don’t care about personal appearances and I don’t want ad hominem ‘arguments’ despite your attempts to make it as such.  
I want to know why there is an attraction to this character both in these arts and in the fans of the movie itself. Typically if a writer made a character this blasé then there would not be such a fanbase for it, where does the demand come from?

Regardless, I’m not getting into another internet pissing match over this silliness. A piece of advice to you, friend. If you wish to appear as the detached intellectual, you have to phrase your questions in a polite and respectful manner. If your questions are degrading and insulting the very people you are asking them to, then you are already passing judgement before you have heard their arguments.
 
Which is what I come to expect from most people, but we should always strive to be better.

What dynamic? There is only the one you create, even if you do not see it exactly as yourself you still have to create it yourself and thus it is more you then the character.

Ummm, wow. So apparently you didn’t listen to a word I said. Either that or you just heard what you wanted to. I have no desire to be Flash, I don’t find Twilight attractive (I honestly prefer Rarity), and I don’t use him as an author avatar. I ship them because I find the implied dynamic that is promoted by this artist to be entertaining and inspiring.
 
You asked a question, we gave answers. If you don’t like the answers, I am sorry. But your dislike of the answers does not make them or the people giving them any less valid.
 
If you are going to look down on people with other opinions, at least have the balls to come out and say it instead of hiding behind a guise of detached intellectualism.
