Forget about it. Considering how her sanity slippage in Party of One has been irredeemably associated with her alternate character interpretation as a murderous psycho in fics like Cupcakes, that misconception is pretty commonplace and won’t get corrected anytime soon anyway.

My head-canon psychiatric analysis is that Pinkie Pie is bipolar, usually in the manic phase but sometimes slipping into depression like we see here. She’s also a high-functioning psychotic, and prone to hallucinations when under stress. We almost saw one of her psychotic breaks here, but she managed to keep in touch with reality despite the wild mood swing.
