Why do people act that in order to be a fan of one of the princesses you have to hate the other? Personally I”m a Huge fan of Luna, but i also like Celestia.  
Actaully both characters and their relationship are contributing to what makes them good characters. Both Luan and Celestia wouln’t be as good characters as they are without the other.

I would love to see that too, heck any background on the past is something I want to see even if it’s not focused on Celestia in that 1000 years, just something about how things where for the ponies of that time.

Understood. It just surprises me how many people claim Celestia ruled all on her own for 1000 years without any help. She obviously had help along the way. Hell, I’d love to see a flashback episode for Celestia during those 1000 years. Ruling a country right after having to banish your sister cannot be easy, and it could lead to some fantastic character development for her, and introduce some interesting new characters who helped her along the way.

None of the Princesses accomplished anything they did alone. Twilight always had to rely on her friends to accomplish anything in the series. That’s what the series is all about, learning to rely on friends and being there for them. In fact, I’m sure Celestia had tons of help during those 1000 years of ruling. To say she did it all by herself would just be preposterous.

But seriously it is kind of stupid to hate Tia for the “Trollestia” stuff, I kind of liked Trollestia when it was just seen as her pranking people and being silly with the idea but then all this stupid stuff…

Yeah, I think some took the “Trollestia,” and such memes a li’l to seriously. Also, some seem to think Celestia’s more powerful, and “god-like” then she actually is, which also makes some think she’s to OP.
 
Luna seems to be the one pony princess with the least amount of hate, but I still see some who hate her just for being a “popular” character.

I seriously don’t get why people compare Luna to Celestia in the whole “Who is best ruler.” kind of thing. I mean, come on, Luna DID threaten to throw Equestria into eternal night, out of sheer jealousy since ponies relished Celestia’s day, and Tia had to rule for a thousand whole years on her own.

I think all of the hate started with the fanfictions and the whole “Trollestia” fiasco.  
People obviously over thought the situation that she is a practical joker and a prankster coupled by the fact of what she had done to Luna, they then began to think she was a ruthless tyrant and spread the word, and people believed it therefor that explains all the hate. If Celestia ever got her own episode i have a feeling this guy and others like him would be writing a letter of complaint to hasbro, and in my mind that would be very retarded.

I honestly prefer Celestia, but the characters of both are pretty flawed. I just have much less sympathy for Luna. Celestia I kind of see as a fool with a crown, Luna as a spoiled child.
