Well, yes and no. While I guess shooting somebody in the head with a caliber higher than .44 Magnum while using hollow points would leve a sizeable hole if not blowing a large chunk out of it, I really doubt you can blow someone’s head off with anything smaller than an anti-meteriél rifle.
so…is a lie that a magnun shot can blown your head (maybe i am not considering that the zombies’s bodies are fragile…)
There isn’t one. “Magnum” indicates a more powerful version of an existing cartridge (44 Special/44 Magnum, 10mm Auto, 10mm Magnum), althought it’s sometimes used as a way to refer to revolvers, for obvious reasons. Handgun itself means it’s a gun you can comfortably hold and shoot in one hand.
Basically, it’s a misname.

My god! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this. XD
A “magnum” also counts as a handgun. But if we’re going by caliber, it’s a handgun. 50 AE is a pistol caliber because it doesn’t have rimming at the base.
Now that’s just mean!
Though, it would explain a lot…
