I believe/support the theory that Applejack’s parents are dead because of how deep the subject matter can go. I’ve seen and read so many comics based on this subject, such as Core of the Apple (did I get it right?) and zillions of fanfics as well. You can almost feel the emotion pain and remorse as you read on.
 
This is my interpretation of what Applejack’s mother looks like. Her name is Ambrosia Apple, though for some reason she prefers to be called by her middle name, Rose. “Rose” is like most nurturing mothers; with a heart of gold and a winsome personality, she smothers the ponies that she loves most with unconditional love and compassion, as well as deep understanding and honesty, hence where Applejack’s Element of Harmony comes into the picture.
 
Rose loved her family to the very core, and was a hard worker when it came to working in the farming business. She first started working in the apple orchard when she was a small filly and decided to retire from apple-bucking after she became pregnant with Applejack. Instead, she would help Granny Smith do simple, easy chores around the house, such as cooking, cleaning, and other household essentials.
 
Sometime after Apple Bloom was born, Rose became extremely ill and could no longer preform her daily duties. She was constantly bed-ridden and could hardly move from the spot for weeks. Doctors discovered that Rose had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and she had a very slim chance of surviving.
 
The Apple Family prayed for her safety and her life, but unfortunately, Rose didn’t last very long. However, she died almost instantly and painlessly, leaving the physical world with a content smile on her face as she drifted into the Land of Peace, basically pony Heaven.
 
Rose’s husband, Jonagold Apple, Big Macintosh, Applejack, and Apple Bloom’s father, however couldn’t stand the grieve and became so depressed that he eventually died of a heart attack that was caused by post-traumatic stress disorder.
 
I understand how violently dark this past seems, but in reality most of the things that happened in this theory has happened to me in real life. My mother nearly died of throat cancer, but managed to survive after all these years. My paternal grandfather, who was a medical doctor back in his days, died of depression and an alcoholic problem.
 
Anyway, moving along. The picture above this description depicts Ambrosia “Rose” Apple, approximately ten months pregnant with her first filly, little AJ.
