Hive-Queen Chrysalis is genuinely shocked that she has defeated the God-Empress Celestia

Yeah, I’m surprised that TVTropes page doesn’t list those examples I mentioned. (And for those curious the Mario episode that featured it was “Stars in their Eyes,” and the TMNT one was “Return of Dreg,” I think.)
I sit corrected :P
I always liked that Twinkle in the sky trope/gag.
Funny thing is, it’s been an obscure gag in other western, and anime cartoons before Poke’mon & Super Smash Bros. popularized it.
Oddly it was even featured in the Super Mario Super Show once, in “A Wish for Wings that Work,” and in the old TMNT show, as well. So it’s not just an “anime’ gag.”
Cause instead it seems like she’s easily defeated, I meant to say.
Realistically she’d have died from being thrown miles through the air and presumably eventually hitting something. ;)
But considering all the anime influence in this series already, that little twinkle means she’s just ‘blasting off again’.
(someone make a comparison animation of team rocket and changelings blasting off or i might lol )
@ALIS
True, she gets really somber and focused as soon as she realizes Celestia’s addressing her.

I think the whole sequence of Celestia being beaten would’ve been more impressive if we’d actually seen her easily defeat (or destroy) some monsters or other evil at least once before on the show, cause it’s easy for her to seem undermined then.
In comparison we see her utterly kick ass twice in two flashbacks during the Princess Twilight Sparkle season 4 premiere.
I’d like to see Chrysalis fight Celestia again and win… only for Celestia to get up and laugh, revealing that she had planned for it all along, and while she was busy trying to beat her, her allies undermined all her plans.
Pretty sure she never planned to fight Celestia in the first place. She has an army for that sort of rough work.
only being to die is sombra. chrysalis is alive; got wings and all. the comics state it so as well, though she got beat up again by twilight, as it turns out that while chrysalis was probably stronger, she was not quite as magically skilled as twilight.
Mad props to Chrysalis for her big wedding spy scheme though.
Unfortunately for Chrysalis her power is dependant on a consistent source of love energy, and a really powerful love was needed to overpower Celestia.
Chrysalis knows she is screwed if she ever faces Celestia again without that. Presuming she’s still alive in the show. :P
Brilliant XD
