Rainbow hated herself, if only she had been a little faster she could have caught her friend before she hit the ground. She could have saved her but now all she could do was sit in hospital hall way listing to the breathing machine and heart monitor.

If Rarity died Rainbow swore she would never fly again. But is that what Rarity would want? For her to ruin her own life over a little mistake? No, little miss generosity would not want to take Rainbows life away just because hers had. She would want Rainbow to continue and not punish herself.
 
At that moment Rainbow could have sworn she felt some pony brush up against her mane and kiss her sweetly as if to confirm her deepest thoughts. But they were cut short, noises that had haunted her nightmares had suddenly leaked into real life.

EXACTLY! It’s stuff like this that makes me want to see an entire episode, featuring these two as the focus! Sure, they’ve interacted many times in the past, but only briefly, each time.

I like that you can disregard the shipping aspect and still find this a very heartwarming scene.
