Even if that’s not how it’s done, the idea of throwing in some randomly drawn element could be a good way to break writer’s block or figure out how to pull a scene out of a dead end.

You know, now I can’t help but think that they have hundreds of cards with random words on them, pull four to eight out of the bag and write stories around them.
 
Probably not true, unfortunately, but they did used to draw eye-catching WTF covers for those Superman spin-offs about Lois and Jimmy, and only then write the story.

Yeeeaaahhh, not too inclined to read into these at all, seeing as they’ve been very technically correct in the past. (such as how she mentioned Celestia for Testing Testing, 1 2 3, but then Celestia only ended up being mentioned in an off-hand comment.)
