As I said in the comments, it becomes very difficult to do a good resolution with a child character. They don’t have the mental maturity to always understand the in depth lessons that were learned, especially when those lessons deal with a subconscious aspect of psychology.
 
You’ll notice the prequel story also had the resolution be Rainbow’s, not Prism’s. This one was more obvious because he was the focal point of much of the story.
 
I found the scene with RD and Twilight better for actually exploring and ‘resolving’ the issue, even though it had been ‘resolved’ a week ago in story.

Kinda felt like the story meandered at bit towards the end
 
Twilight: “Your son’s got a stigma problem your fame”
