You know, given the terrible art style applied to the characters I hadn’t really looked at the background and now that I have, well both FiM and EQG at their worst have never had backgrounds or set dressings that repelled me this much.

Its a rule of mine not to criticize something for style. After all I like weird shit no one else does, and just because something does not appeal to me personally does not mean it is without merit.
 
I am now going to break this rule.
 
This is, without a doubt, one of the ugliest styles I’ve ever seen applied to these characters. There is exactly one nice thing that I can say, which is that the coloring is good. Other than that this is borderline horrifying.
