You should always keep track of your opponent score. Even in Premiere.
Do they? That might be the best solution then. (Of course, if you’re using them as designed to track your score, your opponent will need to watch closely to make sure you don’t spot yourself any extra points when you put those cards back.)
I don’t think you’re required to use dice either.
Personally I’d recommend using another card, like the reminder or score card to represent a mane. Those can be sleeved no problem, and have the standard card back if you’re not using sleeves.
The game didn’t provide sleeves, correct. But the game don’t require sleeves. Your argument doesn’t make sense.
Plus, I’ve put the Mane character in a clear sleeve for easier flipping. All other cards are in opaque sleeves.
I might just use this card…

And if they’re using sleeves, then the mane character won’t be obvious from behind, and can be shuffled as well.
The troublemaker might have a different sleeve (opponent’s).

Not everyone has a dice, and this game didn’t provide one.
Remember that unlike Problem faceoffs, Troublemaker faceoffs only involve one player’s characters. (Obviously, if a Mane Character is involved, you’ll have to deal with the fact that Manes don’t have a face-down side. Maybe substitute the Troublemaker itself.)
Use a dice.
