I really wish that these “diverse MLP headcanons” didn’t specify race or nationality with these headcanons. You could just go be skin tone, like so:

Rarity: Near porcelain  
Applejack: Tan  
Rainbow Dash: Tan  
Pinkie Pie: Either ‘black’ or fair, not sure  
Fluttershy: Little tan
 
That is all.
 
We don’t really need to attach nationalities or races to MLP characters because, and this is just a little theory I have but, they would have never heard of these nationalities or races in the first place.

i usually see ponka, rarity and flutters to be white, twilight being latina, applejack is just tanned, i cant decide about rainbow tho.
 
as for sexuality, iunno its not a thing that i think a lot, but rarity to me its as straight as a rod.

I am kinda ashamed to admit I have similar thoughts about the ponies’ sexuality. Only in my headcanon:
 
Pinkie is bisexual
 
Applejack is lesbian
 
Rarity is straight-with-mild-bi-inclinations (she greatly prefers stallions, but wouldn’t say no to a certain farm-mare. Yes, I ship Rarijack.)
 
The other three are straight.
 
As for race/ethinicity, I don’t really care. Just so long as Applejack isn’t black. That makes no sense.
 
Rainbow Dash being Korean is a new one. She’s usually portrayed as Latina for whatever reason. Reminds me of Lady Rainicorn (another rainbow-colored Korean. Well, Korean-speaker, anyway).

I don’t think all of them would necessarily be caucasian/western or heterosexual either.

The races are fine (except Islam; I mean, really? You meant Middle Eastern, right?), but I don’t see why everyone needs a non-straight sexuality. I get that some people are going through a hard time with the realization that they are gay, pan, asexual, etc., and like knowing that other characters are going through the same struggles, but…I dunno. Not everyone has to be pan, you know? There’s nothing wrong with being straight. And I wish Tumblr would understand that.
