That would have been cool but pointless,even their captain didn’t stand a chance and the only thing it would have done is let Tireck suck out more power if he even botherd with them.  
It’s most likely Celestia sent a majority of equestrias military out into the country sides to coordinate evacuations and Instill order for the populaces (apparently Manehatten and some other places were not touched)it seemed she only had a token force of royal guards guarding her to deride suspicion.Besides I’m sure Tireck beat up a ton of guards in the hallway before he brok in.

Now, that would have been awesome!

The only thing that would have made that scene even better would have been if there was one final squad of guards protecting the princesses that charge at him, and he just keeps walking forward while systematically beating the crap out of every single one with the door bits
