I don’t think aping an early SpongeBob episode would solve much.

The episode has Twilight find a small pebble in the ruins of her house. She goes to live with her friends, but it doesn’t work out. Right before leaving to go back to live in Canterlot, she plants the pebble in the foundation on her old home, but it turns out to be a seed that magically regrow everything.
 
There you go, whiners. Perfect episode.

I like to joke that the part of “Magical Mystery Cure” that took place in the alicorn void thing that showed clips from a bunch of episodes WAS the clip show.

This is why I hope we never have any sort of clip episode. I can’t remember a single instance when I’ve enjoyed that.
 
Well, maybe the first episode of Clerks, but that was the whole joke.

@Background Pony #2B98 That’s excessively rare though. Also, more expensive. This way they only need to animate 6 minutes of show for a 22 minute episode. I’d rather they just try to do something cliche as good as they possibly can, because there’s a good chance Hasbro would say the alternative is too expensive for something not toyetic. This would also allow that money saved to be spent more on a different episode, hopefully giving us another Smile Smile Smile sequence or something to that effect.

@Background Pony #3358 This is probably the first show in which that would make sense.  
So much of it being about companionship and feelsy moments and such. Imagine Rarity and Applejack looking at the library and hugging and then you see clips from Look Before You Sleep for instance, or Rainbow Dash and Twilight recalling Testing and Read It.

Something tells me it will just be a clip Ep. The the Mane 6(7) walking through the burned out husk that was the library each having a flash back to a memory of there time there.

It might be a bit cliche but I would like to see them plant a seed for a new tree to grow or they discover a seedling between the wreckage by the end of the episode.

Discord tells Twilight not to be sad, that he’s going to replace everything that went missing from her library, At first wants to say how he can’t possibly know because he hasn’t read all of the books and memorised them like she has, but he shushes her, tells her to go about solving x conflict, so she shrugs and goes about her day.  
At the end of the episode, the stinger is that he brought Stellar Eclipse in to help him design a variety of lamps to place all over a reconstructed Treebrary. Well, he did say he would replace what was lost, didn’t he? Not that they would still be books… :Þ  
Cue frowny scrunchy-face twi slapping him with a lamp holding a newspaper.

Unless time travel is involved, they can’t bring back the old library; the best they could do is grow a new one to replace the old one.

I doubt it brings back the beloved library. It just gets replaced with a cold castle library :-(

As far as we know, Twilight’s mad scientist laboratory underneath the library wasn’t damaged. I’m still hoping for its return.

i doubt that. it is not like it was like any house, it was literally a tree that likely had magic used on it to keep it alive yet act as a home.
