Well, if Celestia went with Cadance’s plan in the first place, Tirek would never have been a problem. {Cadance was about to suggest Twilight to be the one to take down Tirek while he was weak, before Celestia sent Discord.}
 
And yeah, love is the most powerful emotion. Actually, it’s very effective against daemons.

you know Cadence she wants an adventurer she can still beat Tirek if she didn’t give her magic to Twilight POWER OF LOVE WINS REMEMBER SHIPPING

You know, a small part of me was expecting Cadance to break out of Tartarus and play a part in Tirek’s defeat….What? She’s done it before.
 
In all of her other appearances, Cadance played a major part in the villains defeat:
 
Chrysalis: With Twilight’s help, broke out of her prison and used a Love Spell to banish her and her changelings out of the kingdom.
 
Sombra: Was able to save Spike and and the Crystal Heart, thus enabling said heart to kill Sombra.
 
Tatlzwurm: Kicked it’s flank with lasers.
 
The evil witch in her story: Defeated an evil witch who took away love, thus becoming an Alicorn. (Mind you, she was a little filly.)
 
Cadance was kicking butt and taking names way back as a child. Tirek was lucky she decided to stay in Tartarus for a while.

hmm, come to think about it, celestia and luna (mostly celestia, really) are practically immortal, and the shit they’ve seen over the eons that is their lives should have made them into calculating magnificent bastards to some degree. So most things they encounter should all more or less fall into “just-as-planned” territory.
