I really don’t see where you’re getting some kind of universal bigoted motivation from the very idea of mulleted rainbow lesbians; there are assholes who try to use it as a club to pummel people with, but they’re assholes, and this is a thing that actually happens. Trying to turn “this is a common thing among this community” into “EVERY SINGLE ONE OF ‘EM IS LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME BIBLE BIBLE WHITE POWER JEEBUS” is total assholery, sure, but it’s far enough away from a universal response that I really think you’re way off the mark here. If people seeing rainbow mullet and automatically adding “…lesbian” on as a suffix offends you personally, go ahead and be offended by it, but I really do not believe that it’s the overall offensive thing to everyone else that you’re trying to make it out to be.

Well, I’m dismayed that you’ve apparently given up on your promise never to use your psychic powers for personal gain by psionically determining the artist’s motivations, but how exactly do you figure that “brash chick + rainbows + mullet = lesbian” is a homophobic stereotype? Respect is a two way street. It is hard to respect a group when said group is attacking yours. This is one of the major problems with feminism, MRA, NAACP, and so on. Most of it has very little to do about equality and fair treatment, and more about finger pointing. Ie. if people think it’s okay to be gay, then it should therefore be great to be straight.

There’s a difference between acknowledging that certain kinds of people tend to adopt certain styles of personal fashion and using those broad tendencies as an excuse to be an ass about it. At this point the cultural saturation of the “brash + mullet + rainbows = lesbian” meme is complete enough that any woman of any orientation who adopts such a personal style is aware of what other people are going to think of it, abd presumably is either hoping for that reaction or just doesn’t give a damn.
 
Dash has always read as lesbian to me because she reminds me a lot of one of my lesbian cousins. If you’d rather assume that a lack of talking about relationships in a kids’ show means everyone is hetero by default, that’s your business.

I have a thing for mouthpieces. The stupidity…it’s almost hypnotic. Also uploading something doesn’t necessarily mean I agree with the message. I mean, yeah, I agree that homosexuals shouldn’t be hated on for what they are (who they are on the other hand…), but I also doubt the entire Rainbow Dash is gay thing as well.
