what’s wrong with that.
I see, well, I’m not American, so that’s not something I’m aware of.
“I’m very sorry, kids, but something important has happened that the President needs to go take care of right away. Thanks for letting me read for you, I hope to be able to come back some time. Have a good day and remember to mind your teacher.” [
dropset down mic, exit stage left ]America was under direct attack by an at the time unknown– so they say– force. There are times when it is appropriate to bail on a room full of five year olds without worrying overly much about upsetting them, and that one was pretty high up on the list.
Well, it’s not like he could’ve gone, “ZOMG! WE’RE BEING ATTACKED!” and scare the crap out of the children. That would’ve been worse IMO.
I don’t think Bush Jr. is a perfect prez, (nor Obama for that matter) but I don’t think there was really anything he could do in that situation at the time.
Some people are offended by being reminded that George Dubya Connecticut Yankee Carpetbagger Bush was reading a picture book about a goat to a class full of kindergarteners when terrorists crashed passenger aircraft into the World Trade Center, and his response was several moments of stunned, vacuous silence, after which he finished reading the book before allowing himself to be taken to somewhere presumably safer than a Florida elementary school classroom.
Oh, don’t worry; no matter how filthy that lucre is, the House will make sure it is thoroughly laundered.
But we need those quarters to do our laundry!
Obstructionist Congress is hoarding all the quarters.
And Obama doesn’t give out change. ;)
Dubya’s an asshole. He doesn’t tip.
Indeed, though some things the prez does, (like Bush Jr.‘s & Obama’s HUGE spending, and raising the U.S. deficit) doesn’t help things either.
So while some things are misblamed on the president, some things are a li’l bit their fault, as well.
((this is still funny though))
Also true. Though, Cheney does deserve some credit, or is he a pompous ass for a whole other reason? :3
Everything is always mostly congresses fault, in the long run. They have the most power. Having a shite president/vp only expedites failure, it isn’t usually the cause.
I’m one. He’s alright. Cheney was the guy behind the horrible things the Bush administration did. :j
Well, it’s not like he’s considered “history’s greatest monster,” or anything.
…Well, unless you’re a Democrat.
Still, you got to admire his mad shoe-dodging skills.
(Cue somebody whispering to Luna that Canterlot is under attack, cue subtle shocked expression.)
