I don’t think there’s any “LOL LOL” going on here. The article’s just stating, “Hey, there are people in the west who’re fans of an anime made for kids, the same as here.”
Admittedly, it also mentions things like Bronies making original animations on Youtube and how MLP seems to be booming in an almost cult-like manner.
