It never sat right with me that Spike has wings as an adult dragon in the story, however he doesn’t have wings in MLP FiM, and doesn’t even appear to be able to grow wings. As such, I drew Spike as my headcanon works with him - in Fallout Equestria: On The Bright Side of Death, Spike is an Oriental Dragon, inately different from other dragons, able to fly without wings, and has a fixation on facial hair, which I say, he sports with gusto.
I pity the pony that hurts the stache.
Been a while since I read it, but I know there was at least one scene where he flew so probably.
Did kkat ever write that she gave Spike wings or not when he got older? I mean, compared to this art, that is.
Considering the fact that he does end up with wings in S8 and that would be the epitome of Hilarious in Hindsight.
Hehe, skyrim dragon language.
Littlepip: I guess I’m here to find a book.
Spike: Tolro rinik pruzah. That’s very good. It’s been a long time since my master and I have gotten a visitor.
@Ghouleh
The artist stated he was intentionally drawn without wings, as he was modeled after an eastern dragon, who can fly without wings.
With an epic mustache.
@amess
New headcanon acquired: Should Spike ever achieve apotheosis, he will become the Equestrian equivalent of Wan Shi Tong.
If you take from the hoard, you must give to the hoard.
Yep. From the Deviantart page:
And Littlepip meets Spike - a fully grown, very intimidating dragon that could gobble her up in one bite! But fortunately, he won’t…
