I hate this Pinkie Pie, meta humor doesn’t work that way! And yeah, that comment about not giving a crap about continuity… It totally made me mad.  
And that “This is a kids comic” line… Really?! Fucking really?! Andy… You had Chrysalis killing a cat in Issue #3. THIS IS TAME COMPARED TO THAT!  
Also, if this is too much for a kids comic, THEN WHY PUTTING CAMEOS OF CHARACTERS FROM A SCI-FI SHOW TARGETED TO AN OLDER AUDIENCE!?
 
Ok, that was more an outrage against the author, but I fucking hate him. Even if he made Big Mac’s arc, and I will forever love his portrayal of Fleetfoot, that only fuels my hate towards him for making this mediocre arc.

and as for foolishness. more than likely sombra communicated with Celestia in some way, telling that her alternate was trying to breach into their world. and she learned that the alternate luna had gone mad and the world was crumbling.  
old wounds opened she ran in to help without thinking. and overall she has been acting logically over what to do. her and luna being there would likely worsen the rift, and she probably investigated and found there was no tree of harmony in this world long ago. so she setn a power tht did not exist there to try and contain the threat before it cause even more harm. though it seems that the elements are actually making it worse.
 
since she did not demand to be included and prevented her sister from just jumping in blindly, think she is acting best she could.

Bats song from the BATS episode was a song to us, but if we were to translate it into anothe medium it would be fluttershy and applejack arguing about hwat to do and the friends ultimately agreeing with applejack.
 
with pinkie, i think she likes to reference story tropes at times she saw from movies and books. basicalyl i can translate as. this is for kids, as her stating that it was a horrible thing to do.

……….. what do guys like you not understand about this entire concept? this is an old foolishness coming back to bite her and her being unable to personally fix it. she TRIED to do that herself and was overpowered.  
and in the past she was giving sooo many ample reasons for her rash and selfish behavior. youth was only one part of it all. she was under incredibly duress, and she only began visiting outside of starwhirl’s wishes when she had to banish luna to the moon. this alternate world held not only the pony she grew to love, but her dear sister untainted by wickedness.  
depressed, scared, lonely, and guilt riddled. these are not mistakes she is making now, it is what she has made. and it is rather clear this arc started by her learning that the power of the alt celestia and luna working together against sombra was destroying his world, and sought to stop it.
 
and if it is about punishing her, she has suffered a thousand years of isolation from everything she loved both in the world and outside of it, with only beings with short lives to comfort her and keep her company. she has suffered more than enough already.

Considering this Celestia has shown none of the even-handed and stoic authority most people expected her to at least be capable of, I’d say she’s starting to skew towards very incompetent. Risks the stability of entire universes for love, relies on puppeting others to do her work for her, and rarely gives straight answers- likely because she has none.
 
I guess a useless character can be compelling enough. It’s amazing she’s gotten this far.
