It’s carpdime… they alternate between abuse and hugbox.
A quick recovery is as likely as mercury poisoning from that thermometer.
And considering each instance of fluffy pony grimdark should also be “fluffy pony”… I’d imagine there should be even more.
I’ve heard of people who cannot stand fluffies being treated nice at all. They are quite rare, but some of them like to come onto safe fluffy hugboxes and say they want to do something horrible to it, because they cannot fathom the things being treated in anyway that isn’t abuse. And then they get reported by mods, but that’s a different story.
I may not like abuse, but I do admit that it is at least interesting seeing a fluffy being abused. Not enjoyable, but interesting.
Unless it’s just pointless gorey abuse. That’s silly.
Of course there’s a reason. They just like how cute and emotional and interesting fluffies being abused are. People who enjoy the murderers on CSI don’t enjoy people being killed in real life. People who like MLP grimdark don’t want to see real horses that have been injured. It’s just fictional escapism.

There isn’t really hate. People who make fluffy abuse don’t dislike fluffies, they just enjoy fluffy abuse stories and art.
I love this idea of keeping Fluffy Ponies as pets. Still don’t get what’s with the hate.
Actually, a surprising number of non-grimdark images have implications of impending doom, or just plain make the fluffies miserable without outright harming them. It’s still a nice change of pace from the more extreme depictions, though.
