“Seriously though, this movie has a lot of virtues but also quite a few, very distracting flaws.
 
On the good side; the cinematography is gorgeous, murky, and it feels like an oil painting. The guy who plays the Police Inspector, Paul Giamatti, he is amazing. And I like the different magic tricks, and magic effects, and the way they reveal how they are done.  
On the bad side; I think the Illusionist himself doesnt have that much of a personality, and neither does his love interest. In fact the movie could do without the romance subplot entirely.
 
Overall, the good is stronger than the bad, so I think this movie is definitely worth your time. Give it a watch if you are feeling magical.
 
And now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go treat Trixie to a meal. I think shes taken my magic trick in the worst way possible.
