I see now. So she is completely blind, but uses magic to see.
It’s actually because of her magic that she sees the way she does. There was a picture she made that had Annie and Starburst swap races so Starburst could bond with her mother, and Annie starts freaking out because she hates the dark.

I’m sure the artist has answers for all these questions somewhere, but I’ve never been able to find them.
