No, I advise that you never even touch it.
I think he’s referring to collectors edition and their ability to have cheap horses, as well as other bonuses those special accounts get.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
There’s no Pay-to-Win in ESO. :/
No.
TL;DR: It doesn’t bring anything to the table that WOW, Guild Wars II, TOR and other MMOs don’t do already. Plus grouping is terrible, the quests are bugged, not that you’d want to play them anyway. Not to mention pay-to-win bullshit, and it can’t decide whether it wants to be an MMO version of Elder Scrolls, or a single player game.
The only real saving grace is the PVP, when it actually works.
And I agree. ESO is, in every light, a theme park. But it’s a good one that has the potential to get better if they know what they’re doing.
And my opinion of TESO is pretty much everything stated in this video by our saviour, MrBtongue
The party system and the forced to solo sometimes for an MMO kind of ruins the point to me.
If you like the world of Tamriel, and want to explore a lot of it, and don’t mind it following the vanilla MMO mantra, then I say go for it. But if you wanted something like Skyrim where you can be the ULTIMATE DRAGONBORN MEGA WARRIOR WIZARD THIEF OF LEGENDARY KICKASS, then it’s not quite like that.
The customization is the best I’ve ever seen in an Elder Scrolls game, not only can you do any type of armor in any style (ie have an orc run around dressed as an elf if you like) but you’ll be able to dye armor difference colors in an upcoming patch and you can mess around with as many builds as you like (a wizard in heavy armor with a warhammer? Sure. A knight in wizard garbs and a bow and arrows? Why not?) but the multiplayer aspect reminds you that you’re not the best person in the world.
Finally, the quests. The whole “Collect 5 Rats’ Tails” thing simply does not exist in this game. Sometimes quests with start with you finding a dead body in an alley with an encrypted note, and your quest is to find out what happened, and how that leads to an assassination ploy against the king of Daggerfall. No, seriously, that’s like one of your first quests. Nearly all of the quests have a storyline to them, a few of them even giving you the chance to alter the outcome of the quests.
Crime does not exist YET in the game. Swipe your sword at a shopkeeper and it goes right through it. THIS WILL CHANGE in a future update, meaning if you kill or steal something, you could have other players hunting you down for the bounty. Which sounds pretty interesting.
My final thoughts? It’s okay-ish right now… but it’s getting better bit by tiny bit every update. Just don’t jump in thinking it’s like Skyrim.
It’s getting a rather lukewarm response, just like every other MMORPG in the last 5-7 years.
lol
