The pilot eps (The Cage and Where No Man Has Gone Before) were before the miniskirt uniforms were added. Though now that you mention it, Uhura does wear gold in Corbomite Maneuver, and there were one or two female admirals that showed up.
I heard that it was Spock (the alien) and Number One they had trouble with, not a black in the visible crew.
Or she got hold of Majel Barret’s from the original 1964 pilot (M.B.R played Number One - NBC said Roddenberry could have either a female 1st mate or a Black bridge crewmember, but not both, so Gene hired Nichelle Nichols for ST:TOS and married Majel Barret).
But yeah no Luna probably made it herself… or had Rarity do it.
Yeah the panel answers seemed to imply to me that the show writers take the comics and books in mind as they write. (Re: comics characters showing up in the show, and Cadance’s origin story).
