I think Trixie had a bad childhood that damaged her self-esteem severely, so she compensates by being a blowhard so ponies are impressed and like her. She won’t actually regain her power over magic until she gets over her self esteem issues.

Lately in MTG I’ve been toying around with Golgari split and Simic multicolor setups to get a feel for the style of play. Jarad, Dimigari, Golgamir, they’re all lazy names I’ve come up with.
 
I really want to make a Princess “Selesnya” for the lols.

Aww, when she was a baby, and had no clue (or later memory of what she was doing) she could do some really powerful magic. Then she grows up, and despite wanting to be “great and powerful”, she no longer has the ability to do such magic, kinda sad. Maybe unconsciously she still remembers, and the frustration makes her the way she becomes.
