Pretty sure there’s a difference between an American patriot or a communist and a Nazi. That’s not just about German nationalism; it’s also about propagation of ethnic purity, not excluding violent propagation, which, perhaps understandably, is oft frowned upon.

Of course Catholicism has nothing to do with anything. (Except executions and such, but political or otherwise meddling in others affairs, no) Catholicism is a really quite religion, in my opinion. Most of them just sit down and don’t say anything about it. You’d never know they’re Catholic if you didn’t ask them. They never say anything about it unless you mention their god, or something about another religion.
 
Christians on the other hoof, you can’t get them to stop talking about their god once they even think about talking about him.
 
Oh, and just to throw it out there, the Nazis were Christians.

They had at least 6 african divisions, some what were integrated, while the few blacks allowed into America’s army were wholly segregated. (really their racism only applied to roma, some slavs, and jews, thanks in part to british eugenics and centuries of catholic propaganda)
