Thank you for replying. When I first read this comic, which was a while ago, I immediately got the impression that the artist is trying to portray her as a jerk, which got me angered. I decided to see if the people shared my reaction, if they had somehow justified her. But instead, I saw them insult her, so I left the page with a pretty bad mood. I was thinking about it for some time, but couldn’t find any positive explanation.
 
I decided to forget. Then a harder time started for me, thus I thought “Ponies will cheer me up!” and I bumped into this page, read the comments again, and got furious.
 
Yet, I’ve read your reply and it helped me see this artwork in a different light. I’m eager to read your story, as I hope it will help me fully understand why you made Luna act this way. I wish the comic was a bit more appropriate for her character, as I’d like the comments to be more “polite”, but now, it’s too late to change anything anyway. Still, thank you for your words, as they’ve allowed me to stop despising the comic.
 
Sorry for the long comment and judging you. I find it hard to control my emotions when the matter involves Luna, as I really care for her and detest seeing others offend her. I promise to give your story a shot, at least.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to what I had planned for Luna. I’d really like to see it done, but with my life as it is, I don’t know if it’ll ever happen. Still, I won’t spoil anything in case I do manage it.
 
I purposely set up Luna has strict and put offish. I purposely gave her glasses and had her made a show of breaking them. That’s because I wanted to draw an arc where we investigate her dreams and get a flashback to what made the glasses necessary. And why she’s been acting so mean. The arc was meant to look into and solidify her relationship with both her sister and herself.
 
So, no, I don’t dislike Luna. I very much like her and wrote a story dedicated to her. And to be honest, the venomous reaction that my version of Luna was completely unexpected. The same with Scootaloo. They’re not meant to be terrible people. Just people that have their own issues that they need to confront. I don’t think they deserved to be called such vile names.
 
Normally, I don’t respond to comments or criticisms. People can think whatever they like. But I do not like this accusation that I purposely wrote Luna to be hated, or that I hate her. I don’t hate any of the characters I’ve worked with. And even if I did, I still believe in writing them as well as I can. I don’t believe in cheap shots. I believe in writing interesting characters, whether they be good or bad people.
 
I’m sorry that you dislike how I have treated Luna up to this point. But if I ever do get around to continuing AHFEA in the direction that I want to, and get to draw that Luna arc, I hope you’ll give it another shot and try to see what I mean.

This artist clearly hates Luna. She wants approval, LOVE AND ADMIRATION beyound everything. She most certainly wouldn’t ditch a person who compliments her, unless this was a 1000 years ago, right before her downfall, when she was probably way more cruel. The artist gets the picture wrong and they are most likely aware of it. So yeah, this is like a hate post convincing people to dislike Luna. That’s why I ask you guys to stop calling her a bitch, because this isn’t Luna, nor is it her fault that the artist is (IMO) mean. Thank you for attention, while I’ll go beg the world for less of such comics.

I can understand where she’s coming from. A lot of people probably still fear her from her “Nightmare Moon” form, and have feared her for 1,000 years. And now people, all of a sudden, are complimenting her, saying she looks pretty? How does she know they aren’t doing that just to get in her pants, or because she’s “Princess Celestia’s sister”?
 
I was nominated for Prom King at my high school. When I saw I was nominated, I immediately took my name off the vote, because why on earth would people vote for me? This had to be a joke. I was the generic “introverted nice guy”. Who would choose me over Mr. Valedictorian, Soccer Star, or the hilarious Class Clown?

Mmmmmm, the tsundere is strong in this one.
