There is, but marketing strategies usually focus on where they’re going to make the most money. So the US and Japan are two of the biggest markets and are often going to release the quickest, with smaller places like UK where the market is smaller will be released later.
Kinda annoying that the UK have to wait so long for any pony stuff. We’re still waiting for a release of the first season on DVD here. Just got 2 DVDs with 6 episodes each from season 1 so far.
We only got the first Equestria Girls movie 2 weeks ago.
Sold out within a day, so it’s not like there isn’t a market for it.

I’ll be keeping my eyes open for the newer ones as they’re released here.
They’ve done Trixie and Zecora, in addition to Mane 6 + CMC
This doesn’t surprise me in the least.
I suspect they’ll do Luna and Cadance too, although where they’ll go from there is anyone’s guess.
Popular background characters would be an obvious choice. A Derpy one would be like printing money.
Other options would be characters like Trixie, Vinyl Scratch, Lyra, Cheerilee, Roseluck, Octavia (I’d be getting this one for myself if they did her), Minuette/Colgate etc.
I have bought the ponies for my daughter as they’ve been released. Cost soon mounts up. Especially when I bought 3 of Fluttershy.
1 for my daughter, 1 for my cousin, and 1 for my missus. It was an expensive christmas last year!
