I’m not talking about anything specific, only what we know from the comics made by IDW and approved by DHX. The extremely unusual design they made of Alt Universe Chrysalis. Or as she’s known on this site, Reversalis.
 
Looking like a Chrysalis that doesn’t absorb love and life energy, Alt Chrysalis looks like a Flutter Pony a bit older then Celestia, which fits in with her knowledge of Unicorn Canterlot tunnels.
 
I’ve always considered the flutter ponies to be the aloof and elf-like race in G1 the way they were introduced. And we all know what Saruman from Lord of the Rings said about elves and orcs. Tortured…mutilated…And with Tirek now part of G4 continuity, we don’t know what other ideas from G1 they have planned.

i do think they are some kind of bug winged pony lik,e creatures though if the art we see of their equine forms is right…………
 
perhaps the reality is that while they are doing evil things, their kind is not naturally evil. maybe their kind feeds on negative magic and emotion to drain it away and ease other’s of it. negative magic is a fairly dangerous thing………………..
 
that would be fucking awesome if that is the route they are giong.

Changelings need love, they need animosity and anger.  
Changeling’s ace is to replace someone to take love, they start competition and let it spiral into turmoil.  
Bugpones shapeshift, they use siren songs (remember that this is a music basic movie so musically inclined villains fit.

I admit, that is starting to stump me.

Why even invent sirens for this? Why not just use the fan favorite changelings, they have the same mind manipulation powers and feed off energy. Now the new trailer says their goal is to make everyone adore them. Seriously…

Of course they know what they’re doing.
