I doubt that will happen. It seems more like Sunset is suspicious of the Dazzlings. More likely than not, she’s the one who finds out about their nature, or at least has a hunch.
 
If she does join them, which would be stupid, it’d be either out of mind control or just a desperate attempt to go home.
 
I just hope the movie focuses on her. From the Shake Your Tail and the other music short, it seems that Twilight will be coming back in this movie. I hope that’s not so, not because I hate Twilight, more so that this should be Sunset’s time to shine, since she’s most likely not going to appear in the show.

I think something like that might happen, only Sunset is smart enough to realize that since friendship doesn’t mean anything to Adagio and/or the Dazzlings, she’ll be cast aside once she outlives her usefulness.

I really hope Sunset Shimmer doesn’t become Discord 2.0 and Agadio Dazzle is Tirek 2.0.
 
Though the more I see of Rainbow Rocks the more it seems to be set up like that…
