They don’t fire the assault rifles. What makes you think the assault rifles are even for them? They’re basically just walking assault-rifle-stands for Luna to hang her guns on. She uses them WITH MAGIC, and sometimes pulls the trigger with her tongue if she is feeling particularly ridiculous.
