I prefer to play the game with a balanced force.  
Not much fun if the game’s too one-sided.  
If you’re getting hammered it’s just depressing, and steam rollering your opponent just makes me feel sorry for them, as I know they’re not going to be getting much fun out of the game.
 
Best games I’ve played have been those where one side finishes the game with 2 or 3 models.
 
Actually did that once using the army I made up the rules for. I lost, against Grey Knights, but when the opponent has a paladin with 1 wound and a commander left it was a pretty close 1500 point game.
