A little information that you didn’t know…  
This art is based from a ship created by the founder of the couple but since the ship disturbe this artist,she considerate it as friends.  
Then,as she thought of Death Battle,she is thinking what they can do together…  
And thus,the “Duo Team” was made.Which the goal is pick two different canon characters and think what they do together(like combined attack)for reaching the goal.Like Pacman with Kirby or Draculaura with Genocider Shou/Tokou Fuwaka.

Friendship, Art, and Magic (2017) - Celebrated Derpibooru's five year anniversary with friends.

You know, hilarious stylistic suck aside, I am actually kinda fascinated about what techniques the artist was using here. I think it sort of looks like a blend of traditional and digital art. That would explain how Shadow’s and Twilight’s outlines look like they’re done in marker, but the rest of them and the background looks to be colored digitally. At least the artist gets points in my book for creativity.
