I’ve noticed that now & again. Weird little system quirk, though it doesn’t render two-way convos impossible…just a bit harder to track.
 
And as far as pairing taint-ache goes, I’ve seen Twiley hooked up with everyone & everything from Trixie to toon-bluejays to background dragons (and I don’t mean Spike) to her BBBFF to the rest of the Six (at once). A certain amount of perspective & disbelief-suspension (or at least the ability to ignore non-preferences) are crucial to keep one’s sanity amid this or any fanbase. I’ve sure as hay rolled my eyes through more annoying fan-funded memes & tropes than this.
 
Point in full re: official comic ’verses dropping the ball as often as not, too. Truth be told, fanworks constitute about 70% of my Marvel/DC consumption these days.

I don’t mind it, actually, though I haven’t gotten around to reading it myself. And you know what? I trust any one of us to do better a better job with Peter’s love life than Quesada.
 
People seem to be escalating it into this, like, grand conspiracy to make the pairing a ‘thing,’ like manipulating the outcome by entering a contest a thousand times or something… but really, one guy wants art of his fanfic and doesn’t have the art skill to make it himself. I really don’t see how it’s high crimes against humanity.
 
I also think an artwork should be judged on how good it is; I never heard of a law saying one person’s only allowed to commission so much fanfic art.
 
…but no, really, how much money does this guy have?

Sounds like it. Author of the spidermane fanfic commissions lots and lots of art of it (how much money does he have, seriously?) and apparently some people are tired of it… even if the art is as pretty as this.

I cry when someone buys me a ring pop, too.
