On a more practical note… they pulled a “Post-Credits Scene” at the end of the movie implying the basis of a third movie.
Equestria Girls 3? Idunno, may just be that there’s three of them.
On a wholly tangential note, I hope they at least cameo in future EQG or EQA installments.
Hmm. Maybe they’re not sirens, but furies.
Of course, the odds of any kinslaying in the movie is rather low…
Also, in pics where you can see Adagio’s leggings there are triangles on them.
Well, that’s interesting… you seem to have found an Arc Number. Wonder if it means anything.

Well, they’re a trio
Thinking about it some more, it could be Aria’s version of the spikes on Adagio and Sonata, a motif present in supposedly all of their outfits. But yes, they’re a lot like shuriken.
Also, notice the three smiley faces on Sonata’s jacket. Then, see how aria has three bracelets on each arm. Something is up with the number three and these three…
Now that you point it out, they look… an awful lot like shuriken. I’m guessing they’re just decorations, but they still look it’d hurt if she threw one at you.
Surprisingly one thing I just noticed is the star located right on Aria’s crotch. And the ones in her hair as well. What are they? Decorations, or weapons?
And Aria looks like Grumpy Cat. No surprises there.
She looks like she’s got the expression of “Yep, that’s me!”
