Well, Lauren Faust already elaborated that the lesson was meant as. I think some just misunderstood it.
It’s entirely a (mostly Arab) cultural thing; the Quran doesn’t really elaborate on “modestly” “covered hair”, and outside of strict conservative communities– and Aceh Province– the hijab/jilbab isn’t very common in Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation.
I still say Feeling Pinkie Keen wasn’t about Science vs. Religion, but rather Science vs. Bad Science. Twilight’s Scientific Method was crap, she decided on the result before the experiment started.
Depends on the pic really, or how it’s handled. Some people also get angry over things like Dashie wearing a necklace with a lower-case letter “T” on it, or something. Sense alot of bronies are atheist, they aren’t big fans of anything even slightly “religious” regardless what the religion is. (Remember all the drama over “Feeling Pinkie-Keen” because people mistook it’s lesson as somehow “promoting religion?”)
Even though, I am a christian, even I’ll admit it would look weird seeing a pony reading a Bible, or something.
This pic is kinda cute though, and the “hijab” could just be seen as a cultural thing, not necessarily “religious.”
For the kind of kneejerks who go all frothmouthed at the mere sight of Islamowhatever, yeah, it’s all a GAWT DAYUM AY-RABS race to them. Unsurprisingly, ignorant and hateful people tend not to parse things like “religion” and “ethnicity” and “national identity” very well.
(And yes, I know Muslims aren’t a race, so please don’t be pedantic. I can’t edit posts in comments sections to correct myself.)
You do know that’s Meph’s entire shtick, right?
He’s trying to make us racist by spamming Muslim humanizations until we get sick of it.
