I read that Stephen Hillenburg originally intended for SpongeBob to end with the 2004 movie, unfortunately the greedy higher-ups at Nickelodeon were not in agreement, and Stephen and a large number of people who worked on classic SpongeBob walked out of the studio.
it’s a god danm shame too , i stopped watching that show in like 2005 , then tried watching some of the new episodes couple years later , they didn’t seem to have the same appeal i remember the old episodes having , didn’t even really laugh at any of them , and seeing that image you’ve posted now confirms my suspensions that the show had become worthless now , a danm shame……
