Well we model characters based off of the ideals pertaining to what we want them to be like, and seldom go for “realism” because that’d dull and convoluted.

I don’t like people in general, but it’s easier for me to assign basically decent motives to fictional characters who happen to not be humans anyhow. Real human beings tend to be scum (and that includes myself), but a peek into another world can offer an escape.
I’m a misogynist to the point of being anti-feminist: Me assuming a character, in a series where most of the characters are female, can have redeeming qualities, is a MASSIVE stretch in itself.

I was joking. This guy was talking about it being “Rogue Diamond” talking, and how Spike’s face looked too surprised for that, then you said it was the name of the ship, so that’s why I said that if the ship was talking, that’d be a good reason for Spike to be surprised.

Or Cadance might not have been rescued from the Changeling imprisonment. If it were Chrysalis in her place at the moment, it might make sense that she lets things proceed as they are, but plays the part of the kind Princess Philanthropist, just so folks will love her and strengthen her

Good question. Maybe the Sombra affair took her out of the picture too (temporarily or not).

Quick question, where’s Cadance in all of this? I think the spare alicorn might be helpful in fixing things. Actually, if she’d been around, her love powers might have been able to help heal the rift between Celestia and Luna. So where’s she been hiding?
