Never said he wasn’t a powerhouse, but there’s still a difference between h4x and untouchable. It’s just not a difference many foes have the mojo or plot devices to exploit.
Come to think of it, toxic breath-weapons and whatever mindscrew’s been going down in this series are so radically different it’s hard to say what (if any) defense Discord would actually have against it-sometimes raw power doesn’t shield at all if you’ve been blindsided in a new and/or unexpected fashion.
Uh, according to the classic legend, a tatzlwurm’s breath is IMMEDIATELY LETHAL to any and all lifeforms.
That Discord managed to get by with a simple disease is pretty much proof of how powerful he is.
Technically, Tirek’s drained pony magic worked on him just fine. He’d snarfed enough juice (from most of Equestria, granted) to lock Discord down with TK while he sucked Captain Chaos dry too.
Plus, Dissy caught an actual cold (as opposed to the one he was faking) from the Tatzelwurm’s juices. I think peeps take the god part of that particular fan-title a bit too seriously. Although he’s probably joking (again) here.
A. because how could pony magic work on a God of Chaos.
But if whatever’s powering this brainscramble is affecting Discord just as potently as it did Spike, none of these options guarantee a thing. He might just as soon turn Shy into a banana slug as get Stared into releasing Twiley.
I’m guessing Pie has the right idea, though: knock ‘Redheart’ senseless for a bit, and see if anything starts making more sense.
