I guess your right. If Twilight’s body was as sturdy as her magic was powerful, it might not have killed her.
 
Of course, the fact was that her body DIDN’T work like that, and Tirek’s unnecessary violence was stupid in hindsight since he had all the cards thanks to Celestia. She didn’t become more powerful herself, she didn’t even get bigger or get wavy hair. The only reason she was able to contain all that magic within her body is because she is the element of magic, not because she was a small alicorn that struggled against a worm monster. As the element of magic, she’s used to having more magic in her body then she can control. A good comparison is Twilight’s normal max magic she can’t control is like the avatar state from avatar the last airbender, and when the Ocean Spirit possessed Aang to enhance his Avatar State even further.
 
I guess Tirek thought Twilight was now some kind of omnicorn and decided to have big brawl with her cause ‘why not?’?! Two huge reasons…he could of guessed wrong and destroyed the power with Twilight, or two, he could of been blown up himself. Like many have said..G4 Tirek? Kind of a meathead.

Alicorns are hardy creatures. Celestia received a near point blank blast from Nightmare Moon that was shown to destroy firm rock and got nary a scratch and got right back up.
 
Tirek knew Twilight would have survived that blast, since she still has her magic and, you know, alicorn. (Though, Twilight is an artificial Alicorn so she probably isn’t that hardy, but he doesn’t know that.)

I think they were referring to the fact that Twilight’s initial blast would of EASILY blown up Tirek if he was slightly weaker. With the power given to her, it was super overkill.
 
Destruction magic isn’t even her specialty. If she was smart, she maybe could of used that enormous power-up to immobilize him like create a hardened shield around everywhere but his mouth.

Actually, its even worse then that.
 
Only with all the princesses magic was Twilight capable of such power and destruction willingly, and ONLY through sheer anger. Her attempts at using that power without rage were futile. And without it, her combat level is only on the level of fighting the worm. :/
 
In fact the only times she’s capable of house-destroying level magic is when we loses control completely. That’s been shown and stated in both the show and the comics. And that’s not even mentioning being taught dark magic or her alicorn magic resembling dark magic.
 
Just food for thought, but Twilight’s pattern and history for magic is not a good one, even if we don’t include the comical aspects of magical mishaps.
 
That being said, while I don’t think it was the smartest choice, I do NOT blame Twilight at all for blasting Tirek. He fired first and with deadly force, for no reason that I can fathom.
 
Tirek:“I want to absorb the magic of alicorns….so instead of using my hostages to get it from her immediately, I’m going to blow her up!! That way, I’ll NEVER get their power! Its a perfect plan!”

She did blow up Tirek, but Sombra got vaporized by Candy Ass and her crystal heart nuke. Twilight’s genocide of the Mirror Pinkies deserves a mention.

I also love that little conversation Twilight and Celestia have. I could see her having an inner conflict while being the princess of friendship, forgiveness plays a huge part but at the same time knowing that she’s capable of lots of destruction when necessary.

Hah XD I’m loving this blog (granted I did before). THIS is how I love to see Chrysalis, imo, even if she’s in more of a silly/slice-of-life scenario.

Also, quite the interesting dialogue, with Twi and Tia there.
